Assurance Home Service of Hampshire, IL, earns fourth-year accreditation from the NHWA!
President Kathleen Carr opened a landscape and garden center business in 1996. Over the years, she has fostered her love of beautifying homes with the use of flowers. Kathleen’s passion for helping people care for their homes led her to start Assurance Home Service, which was created after her conversations with area homeowners in need of someone to look after their homes while they are away.
Over the past 20+ years, Kathleen has made site visits to thousands of homes. It was through these visits that she became very adept at observing not only the landscaping, but also the home itself. She uses these observational skills in her Home Watch business.
Kathleen holds a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. She was a horticulture teacher at the Chicago High School for Agricultural Science. Kathleen writes a gardening column for the Sunday paper and hosts a radio show. She volunteers her time through the music department and the athletic booster club of the local high school.
Vice-President Christopher J. Carr was in the construction industry for over 25 years. He oversaw the installation of a wide array of construction projects, both in public and private institutions. His work allowed him to make improvements in schools and universities, churches, and corporate facilities. Chris is a member of the Sports Industry Network, the Association of Subcontractors and Affiliates of Chicago, and the Association for Operations Management. Chris brings his extensive construction and home maintenance knowledge to Assurance Home Service. The company allows him to continue to assist homeowners through his experienced and watchful eyes.
When not working, Kathleen and Chris enjoy spending time with their two daughters and son, traveling to visit friends and family, baking together, and participating in sports. They have participated in several 5K races for charity. Chris has served as an elder and deacon in his church and coached his son’s baseball team.
A little about the National Home Watch Association: The NHWA was formed in 2009 in order to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada (www.nationalhomewatchassociation.org).
