Boone Home Watch of Boone, North Carolina, has earned Accredited Member status from the NHWA.
Owner Jennifer Walker is a native North Carolinian who spent her enjoyed spending her summers in NC and the rest of the year in Texas.
Owner Jennifer Walker is a native North Carolinian who spent her enjoyed spending her summers in NC and the rest of the year in Texas. She, her husband, Doak, and their family had struggled with balancing homes in both NC and Texas at the same time. They would worry about packages sitting out on the porch, ladybugs overtaking their home while the family was gone (and they will do that!), wondering if the gutters were filling up, if pipes were leaking, or the mower didn’t come and having their yard resemble a jungle. They wondered if the house would be safe until their return. Their neighbors were always willing to help out, but Jen and Doak, didn’t want to bother them all the time.
In May of 2018, Jen, Doak, and the family made their permanent move to the mountains of North Carolina.
Jen established Boone Home Watch because it’s a service that she would have loved to have found, and she looks forward to offering it to others in the area. Jen has earned the designation of Certified Home Watch Professional through the NHWA. The CHWP designation shows her commitment to providing excellent service to her clients. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in Applied Learning and Development.
In Texas, Jen’s focus was staying at home with her five children, so she did tutoring on the side, owned a jewelry business for years, and owned a tea party service. She was involved in her community and her neighborhoods and took different positions on the HOA, from social coordinator to president. Jen was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, teacher, cheer coach, and soccer coach and was involved in Eastern Stars and Daughters of the American Revolution (whew!). Jen earned her NC Realtor’s license, concentrating on investment properties and the family’s vacation rental, which earned them Super Host status for their five-star reviews. Her passion is helping others enjoy their time with family when on vacation and being able to rest assured that their home is being watched and cared for while they are gone.
