Carefree Home Watch of Fort Myers, Florida, has earned Accredited Member status from the NHWA.

Rarely do I meet people who have thought of every small detail before starting their business. So, when I was contacted by Larry and Terry Meek about starting and getting Carefree Home Watch accredited by the NHWA, I was instantly impressed by their thoroughness and attention to detail.

Larry is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and attended its Graduate School of Business. He leads Carefree Home Watch in all aspects of its operational development. Larry gained over 40 years of experience as VP of North American Truck Rental Operations for a national rental company and then as the President and CEO of a publicly traded investment corporation. He later became a Florida Licensed Community Association Manager (CAM), engaged in property management of homeowner and condominium associations. Larry managed the operational disaster recovery of those communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. During this period, he and Terry saw first-hand the hardships that absentee homeowners experienced with recovery efforts. Soon afterward, the concept of utilizing his experience resulted in developing Carefree Home Watch. Larry is a volunteer with the Lee County Emergency Management team and holds certificates in Shelter Basics, Fundamentals and Shelter Management. He sat on the Board of Directors for an investment company and for the Promenade at the Forum Home Owner Association.

Terry leads Carefree Home Watch in its marketing/advertising services. Her 40-year career in the marketing/advertising field, working with clients in pharmaceutical and financial services, got its start when she worked for a healthcare concern. Terry eventually co-founded a healthcare advertising agency, which served other healthcare companies. After leaving the pharmaceutical field, she worked for a global, data-driven performance marketing agency. Terry gained experience in account management, customer strategy consulting, performance media, customer experience and personalization, and customer relationship management. Her last marketing position was Vice President, Card Marketing for a bank. While there, Terry directed the marketing introduction of the chip card, which was an enterprise marketing effort for the bank.

Upon moving to Fort Myers, Terry received her Florida CAM license and worked for a property management company, managing internal operations. Her experience managing disaster recovery and recognizing the need for professional Home Watch companies in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma gave her the impetus to start Carefree Home Watch.

Larry and Terry both received their Certified Home Watch Professional designations through the NHWA.
