Coast Home Watch of La Jolla, CA, earns seventh-year accreditation from the NHWA!

Jack Luber
Executive Director

Greetings!

Coast Home Watch of La Jolla, California, has earned accreditation from the NHWA for the seventh year.

Mary Ellen Kinnaman started Coast Home Watch in 2011 after one of her real estate clients that she had been doing favors for–keeping an eye on her empty home–told her that she should open a Home Watch company, and that she would be her first customer. The client owned homes around the country, and she knew that with Mary Ellen’s expertise in the La Jolla real estate market, as well as her professionalism and attention to detail, she would be very successful. Mary Ellen was obviously intrigued, because she had sold homes to many part-timers and absentee owners. She would check on these homes as a courtesy from time to time, but never really considered starting a business. So, after a year’s worth of research, and questioning some of her associates regarding their thoughts about the viability of Home Watch, Mary Ellen started Coast Home Watch. Coast Home Watch became the first NHWA Accredited member in the Greater San Diego area, and Mary Ellen has become an industry leader. She and her husband, David, attended our 5th Annual North American Conference in Phoenix in 2017.

Mary Ellen, whose family has lived in the San Diego area since 1906, has been a successful real estate professional for over 30 years. She is a member of La Jolla Parks and Beaches Committee; Children’s Pool Beautification Committee; REBA-La Jolla Brokers Association; San Diego Board of Realtors; San Diego Native Plant Society; and the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America.
