Congratulations to Old Saybrook Home Watch, of Old Saybrook, CT, on their second-year accreditation!

Shawn Atkinson

Old Saybrook Home Watch, of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, has earned accreditation from the NHWA for the second year.

Owner Shawn Atkinson grew up on the beautiful Connecticut shoreline; he has a deep-rooted connection to the area’s natural beauty. With the Connecticut River Valley as his backyard for his entire life, Shawn brings a wealth of local knowledge and passion to his role as a trusted Home Watch professional.

Shawn’s journey into Home Watch is as diverse as it is fascinating. With a background as a certified chef and extensive experience in the restaurant business, Shawn transitioned to a new chapter as a licensed real estate agent—a welcome change from the hectic pace of the restaurant life. His passion for real estate, coupled with his commitment to exceptional service, led him to open Old Saybrook Home Watch to fill a need in his community after being asked by friends to watch their home, as they were having difficulty finding a Home Watch service locally.

Shawn’s dedication to excellence is evident in his pursuit of professional development and training. As a graduate of the NHWA’s Home Watch Boot Camp and his designation as a Certified Home Watch Professional, Shawn exemplifies a commitment to the highest standards of the Home Watch industry. His training and expertise ensure that every home under his watch receives the attention and protection it deserves.

Shawn and his wife, Alyssa, have owned several homes over the years, from flips to long-term rentals, and each had their own challenges to keep them safe and as carefree as possible.

Shawn and Alyssa have been married for 28 years, and they raised their two kids right there in that special part of Connecticut. They embody the spirit of community and family values that define the area.

Old Saybrook Home Watch serves Old Saybrook, Westbrook, Essex, Deep River, and Chester. You can reach Shawn at (860) 575-9269 or at Learn more from his website, at

Congratulations, Shawn!

As always, I wish you

Much success,
