Congratulations to True North Home Watch on its accreditation by the NHWA!
When Founder Mike Gottsacker was 15 years old, he started building homes on some of his father’s building crews in Wisconsin. Being the son of a real estate developer, Mike learned a lot about the home building process and more about homes and the many things that it takes to manage one.
During his summers off from the University of Minnesota, Mike continued building and also took on several jobs remodeling, painting, and sheet rocking throughout the school year to offset expenses. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Mike stayed close to the housing market, selling real estate for nearly 20 years.
Mike eventually got out of real estate while his kids were young and became a top-producing sales professional for international software companies. During COVID, Mike had a career change which led him back into the housing business as a mortgage lender, where he continues to write mortgages. Mike has always been interested in the Home Watch industry. He realized that there was a need to manage people’s homes while they were away; he had done this informally for his friends and later joined the National Home Watch Association.
Mike is a graduate of the NHWA’s Home Watch Boot Camp and has earned the designation of Certified Home Watch Professional, which places him among the elite Home Watch providers in the industry. The CHWP designation and Boot Camp training exemplify Mike’s commitment to Home Watch excellence.
Mike and his wife, Libby, have been homeowners for over 30 years and have owned several homes which they have improved, remodeled, and sold. Mike also loved helping their friends build, remodel, and maintain their homes. He is also active in the Excelsior Lions Club where the tagline is “WE SERVE.” Mike enjoys the association and friendships there as well.
