Derek Van Marter and Nicole Ringgold, and their beautiful daughter Cymone, moved to the Methow Valley in 2006. Derek has a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington. Nicole has a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and Art Therapy. She is currently a jewelry artist with a studio in Twisp. Her creations can be found in over 20 galleries and shops across the US, and online at www.nicoleringgold.com. Together, they have built, owned and cared for many homes. They met just over 20 years ago as Peace Corps Volunteers in Niger, West Africa. Derek and Nicole know how precious a home is, having lost their own home in the 2014 Carlton Complex wildfires.
