Home Check Services of Melbourne Beach, Florida, has earned Accredited Member status from the NHWA.
Owner Charles “Chuck” Bassett was a law enforcement officer for 29 years in Pekin, Illinois, retiring in 2002 as Deputy Chief of Police. He was a real estate agent/Broker there for 11 years. Chuck and his wife, Cheryl, moved to Homosassa, Florida, in 2015, to care for Cheryl’s mother.
Chuck has a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University, an associate’s degree from Illinois Central College, and put in many hours of graduate work. He is a graduate of the F.B.I. Academy in Quantico, VA.
After the passing of his wife in 2021, Chuck’s desire to sell real estate faded. He moved Melbourne Beach to be closer to family but needed something to keep him busy. His daughter, who is also a real estate agent, suggested the Home Watch business, since his area is prime for snowbirds and second homes.
