Looking Glass Home Watch of Hernando, FL, earns second-year accreditation from the NHWA!

Jack Luber
Executive Director

Greetings!

Looking Glass Home Watch of Hernando, Florida, has earned accreditation from the NHWA for the second year.

Owner Alan Lanthier is originally from Northern New York, not far from the Canadian border. In 1982, he made the decision to enlist in the U.S. Army, and after 22 years on active duty he retired as a Master Sergeant in 2004. His career brought him to many places and taught him the value of keeping your home safe while away. It also taught him to pay strict attention to detail.

Upon retirement, Alan and Lily purchased a home in Central Florida. From 2004 through 2008, Alan was a successful Realtor. However, in 2008 he received an offer too good to pass up, and he and Lily moved to Yokohama, Japan, which would be their home for the next eight years. It would also be where they learned the value of a good Home Watch company. After too many restless nights worried about their largest investment, it became clear they needed someone local whom they could trust with their home.

In 2016, Alan and Lily had a second home built on the West Central coast of Florida, in Citrus County. Now the worry was double, as both homes were vacant. In the spring of 2017, they returned to the Florida full-time. This is when Alan and Lily decided to open their own Home Watch Company. After spending eight years knowing what they wanted for their vacant homes, it was an easy transition to the Home Watch industry.

To jump-start his business, Alan made the best decision possible by joining the NHWA and attended our Fifth Annual North American Conference in 2017. He is now an NHWA Certified Home Watch Professional.

Alan uses his vast experience in the military and real estate to care for each of his absentee clients’ homes like they are his own.
