Nextdoor Neighbor Homewatch of Bradenton, Florida, has earned accreditation from the NHWA for the second year.
Co-founders Larry and Kelly Prater were both born and raised in small-town Indiana. They graduated from Franklin College, Kelly with a degree in Education, and Larry with a degree in Recreation. They began their careers with Kelly teaching elementary children and Larry taking over the company operations of his family-owned business in the concrete industry.
In 2010, Larry and Kelly founded a company and began building a distributorship dealing with health and wellness. They dealt with thousands of people in their network. Over time, they built trust with their clients and a solid assurance that the clients’ experience with them would be very positive.
Larry and Kelly moved to Florida in May of 2019, after taking a year-long RV trip with their four daughters to discover and see all this country had to offer. South Florida captured their family’s hearts, and they permanently relocated to Bradenton. The Praters started doing Home Watch unexpectedly when their Canadian neighbor was sent home due to COVID-19. Once again, they fell in love with an industry that could provide a much-needed service.
Nextdoor Neighbor Homewatch is for homeowners who want the security of someone nearby whom they can trust to look after their vacation home completely and properly. Their mission is to provide their clients with the confidence of knowing their homes are receiving personal attention while they are away. Nextdoor Neighbor’s employees are background-checked, and clients’ house keys are secured.
Both Larry and Kelly have earned the designation of Certified Home Watch Professional from the NHWA, placing them among the elite Home Watch providers in the industry. The CHWP designation shows their commitment to providing excellent service to their clients.
Larry and Kelly are very involved with their four active daughters. From competitive horse riding to singing to soccer and track to gymnastics, this family is involved in the Bradenton/Lakewood Ranch community. They attend church and participate in a variety of business legacy networks. Larry and Kelly value relationships and strive to help this community’s small businesses grow. Larry has exceptional experience in construction for over 20 years.
