RBC Homes of Virginia Beach, VA, earns second-year accreditation from the NHWA!
President and Founder David Whitley was born and raised in Virginia Beach, graduating from Old Dominion University with a degree in Engineering. He began his building career with a large, regional builder-developer, rising to the position of Vice President of Building Operations. In 1993, he founded Resource Building Corporation, doing business as RBC Homes.
David started the Home Watch program at RBC for the many out-of-town clients who build investment/vacation homes. He wanted to provide personal attention to each home they watch to ensure that their clients have peace of mind that their investment is being maintained and protected.
The RBC Home Watch program is for homeowners who want the security of someone nearby whom they can trust to look after their vacation home completely and properly. Their mission is to provide their clients with the confidence of knowing their beach homes are receiving personal attention while they are away. RBC’s employees are background-checked, and clients’ house keys are secured.
David is very involved in his community. He has been a paramedic with the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad for over 35 years. In addition, he serves on the Virginia Beach Board of Zoning Appeals, the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad Foundation, and he is the Stewardship chair of the Sandbridge Community Chapel UMC.
A little about the National Home Watch Association: The NHWA was formed in 2009 in order to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada (www.nationalhomewatchassociation.org).
