SafeGuard Home Watch of Mentor, OH, earns third-year accreditation from the NHWA!

Jack Luber
Executive Director

Greetings!

SafeGuard Home Watch of Mentor, Ohio, has earned accreditation from the NHWA for the third year.

Founder and President Bruce Wilson is a long-time resident of Northeast Ohio. After graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University, Bruce’s Engineering and Operations Management career included working for large corporations. Across a wide variety of positions, in Process Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Customer Service, Bruce gained experience in all aspects of running a business. Management of multi-million-dollar capital projects helped develop many of Bruce’s skills, including contract bidding, construction management and, most importantly, team-member involvement in the design and installation of manufacturing equipment and facilities.

After retiring from his corporate career, Bruce began to look for his next calling. He started Senior SafeGuard®, a business he had been thinking about for many years, while helping his own parents “age in place.” Senior SafeGuard® provides home and property maintenance services for Seniors in the Northeastern Ohio area. This service provides a single point of contact and regularly scheduled visits, in order to triage and remedy any and all problems associated with maintaining their home.

Vacant Home Watch services were originally a part of the Senior SafeGuard® service offerings, but Bruce realized the importance of marketing these services as separate, stand-alone businesses. Thus, SafeGuard Home Watch was founded. Bruce contacted the NHWA in order to pursue accreditation and learn from the many other accredited Home Watch companies who have blazed the trail to excellence in the Home Watch industry.

Bruce’s two businesses are complementary to each other—both focused on keeping a home safe and sound for the owners. He serves the senior community in Lake County by volunteering weekly for the Meals on Wheels program through the Lake County Council on Aging.

Bruce has attended the last two NHWA North American Conferences, and we look forward to seeing him again at our 6th North American Conference in May.

Congratulations, Bruce!

As always, I wish you

Much success,

Jack
