Greetings!
Salo Home Watch of Rockport, Massachusetts, has earned Accredited Member status from the NHWA for the eighth year, and it makes me smile to say so.
Owner Dana Salo’s Salo Home Watch is now celebrating his ninth year in operation. Together with Alison Callahan, they look after homes in the picturesque town of Rockport, located on Cape Ann, which is about an hour north of Boston. Most of their clients are residents who winter in warmer climates. However, there are lots of other reasons why people rely on Dana and Alison: extended vacations, long-term hospital stays, job transfers and people transitioning to new situations. Dana likes to point out that “vacant homes are breeding grounds for all kinds of trouble.” When a home is unattended, it isn’t a question of “if… but when something will happen. Fate doesn’t discriminate.”
Before he started his company, Dana called me to ask if he could come to South Carolina, follow me around while I performed Home Watch visits, and pick my brain. The two of us had a great time, and by the time he left, he felt ready to move forward. From that moment on, Dana became a trusted friend. He has shown his enthusiasm and passion for Home Watch, which is why he sits on the NHWA Advisory Board and Best Practices Committee. He is also a Certified Trainer for Home Watch Boot Camp
Dana was one of our very first members, and we get to see him and Allison every year at our North American Conferences. The bottom line is that Cape Ann Home Watch clients could not be in better hands.
