Southern Hospitality Home Watch and Home Services of Bradenton, Florida, has earned accreditation from the NHWA for the ninth year.
Jason (Jay) and Jana Hancock started Southern Hospitality in 2014 and have grown their business steadily ever since. A life-long resident of Manatee County—except for a three-year stint in New Mexico—Jay has been a cabinet installer in the new-home industry and learned how to trim and perform carpentry. He was a property maintenance supervisor for a 280-unit apartment community, responsible for vendor management, maintenance staff, interior/exterior maintenance, pool/spa compliance, repairs, and make-ready completion. While he was in New Mexico, Jay operated a home inspection business, earning certifications in many systems and different types of inspections. Another big thing that happened in New Mexico is that he reconnected with his life-long friend, Jana, and married her.
Jay takes pride in all the types of homes he works with and believes his honest approach to life and business is the assurance clients are looking for when leaving their homes for any period of time.
Jana was born and raised in Michigan, where she lived for 26 years. Her family background was in the custom-home-building profession. She moved to New Mexico, where she began a 20-year career in residential property management. Jana became a national instructor for the property management industry after learning every aspect of operations. She managed 1,800 units and strived to instill trust in herself and the services she provided.
The company is named appropriately after Jay (the Southern one) and Jana (the hospitable one). Both Jana and Jay believe in creating the best results for absentee owners by making things as worry-free as possible.
