Southern Hospitality Home Watch and Home Services, of Bradenton, Florida, has gained Accredited Member status in the in the NHWA.
Owners Jason (Jay) and Jana Hancock met and got married in New Mexico when Jay moved there from Manatee County and Jana moved there from Michigan. During his three years in New Mexico, Jay was a maintenance supervisor for a large apartment community. He was responsible for vendor management, maintenance staff, interior and exterior maintenance, pool/spa compliance, repairs and make-ready completion. He also operated a home-inspection business, where he became certified in all aspects of home inspection compliance and professionalism. There he also honed his skills in trim carpentry and remodeling homes.
Jana’s family was in the custom-home building profession in Michigan. While in New Mexico, she began a 17-year career in residential property management, and became a Certified Apartment Manager in 1999. She became a national instructor for the property management industry after learning every aspect of operations. Jana earned the trust of the residents of the 1800 units she managed.
The Hancocks like to say that Jay is the Southern part of Southern Hospitality, and Jana is the hospitable one. They have a young son.
