Greetings!
Topsail Home Watch of Hampstead, North Carolina, has earned Accredited Member status from the NHWA.
Owners Tim and Slater Powell, a father-and-son team, have lived and worked in the Topsail area since 1983. Tim practiced general dentistry there for 34 years, until his retirement in 2017. He has owned, serviced, and managed multiple properties throughout that time and is intimately familiar with property owner nuances. Knowledge of and relationships with local real estate companies and tradespeople enable him to direct homeowners to those whom he knows and trusts when needed. He feels confident that his experience can be used to serve others who are absent from their homes.
Son Slater was beside his father on many occasions during this time, except while matriculating his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He is a renowned local surfer and fisherman, with intimate knowledge of Topsail Island and the surrounding area.
Tim and Slater have both experienced the direct effects of hurricanes on Topsail homes since 1983. Their oceanfront home of 10 years experienced a direct hit from both Hurricanes Bertha and Fran in 1996. During Hurricane Floyd’s assault in 1999, Tim’s parents’ home, located on the Northeast Cape Fear River near Burgaw, was completely submerged. Tim and Slater learned a lot from those storms. Now they wish to apply their experiences to help their clients with their homes.
