Greetings!

Toronto Home Watch of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has earned Accredited Member status from the NHWA for the third consecutive year.

The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) has many homes that are unoccupied for extended periods of time. Many homeowners are snowbirds, cottagers, travelers and foreign investors who may leave their homes unattended for much of the year. According to most insurance companies, any home left vacant for over 30 days is classified as “abandoned,” and they can deny coverage if there is no proof that someone has been in to check. Damage due to burst pipes or flooding can be denied if there has been no one in the home for as few as two days!

A native Torontonian, Deena Friedman founded Toronto Home Watch because her family has been in the property management business for over thirty years, and she knew the problems that can arise from unattended properties. Deena’s family has been managing commercial, retail and residential property for more than 30 years. Toronto Home Watch’s goal is to educate homeowners on the limitations of their insurance coverage and provide convenient solutions to homeowners who wish to maintain coverage and protect their homes during their absences.

Toronto Home Watch offers Home Watch, keyholder, and concierge services throughout the GTA. Their goal at Toronto Home Watch is to make living and owning a home in Toronto an enjoyable experience. I have been lucky enough to spend some time with Deena in South Carolina and Florida, and I look forward to our next meeting.
