Founder and President Garret Wong is also the current president of the Professional Property Managers’ Association, an organization that represents over 70,000 rental units in the province of Manitoba. Upper Edge added Home Watch to its services in 2019.
At Upper Edge, Garret leads a team of 19 staff, creating systems and processes to ensure their residents and investors consistently experience a high level of service, communication, and efficiency. He believes in instilling a sense of ownership with each of his staff members, encouraging them to contribute to the overall product and service.
Garret has earned the designation of Certified Home Watch Professional from the NHWA, making him one of the elite Home Watch providers in the industry. The CHWP designation shows Garret’s commitment to providing excellent service to his clients.
In his previous life, Garret spent time in the science field, working for a pharmaceutical company, spent seven years at Winnipeg’s Virology Lab, and was a Realtor in 2007 before focusing on the field of property management. He takes a scientific approach to property management and is obsessed with offering a perfect product to his customers.
As a property investor since 1997 and a licensed property manager since 1999, Garret brings more than 20 years of knowledge and experience to the industry. He has written for the Canadian Real Estate Wealth magazine, regularly presents seminars about property management and property investment, and volunteers hundreds of hours per year in the real estate industry.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Garret is an avid fisherman and enjoys reading, movies, travelling. He loves spending time with his wife and two teenage boys.
