Welcome, Celtic Home Watch of Ellenton, FL, to the NHWA Family!

Iain Gunn
Celtic Home Watch of Ellenton, Florida, has earned accreditation from the NHWA.
Owner Iain Gunn was born and raised in the Highlands of Scotland and lived about 15 miles from the infamous Loch Ness monster. This rich heritage is the underlying reason for the name “Celtic Home Watch”.
Iain comes with 25 years of property experience. Starting as a maintenance technician, he advanced to the level of maintenance manager. He moved into property management at the management level, culminating in the position of regional director over multiple properties for a large property development company with a large portfolio of residential and commercial properties. Iain understands what can happen to an unoccupied property and the need for checks to mitigate possible problems that could go months without the attention of a certified, accredited, and most importantly, responsible person.
Iain is a graduate of the NHWA’s Home Watch Boot Camp and has earned the designation of Certified Home Watch Professional, which places him into the category of elite Home Watch providers in the industry. The CHWP designation and Boot Camp training exemplify Iain’s commitment to Home Watch excellence.
Iain came to the United States 30 years ago and met his wife. The U.S. is home now, but he stays in contact with family living in Scotland. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Scots Guards, then returned to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, where he lived and worked.
As a boy, he was surrounded by music, with both his parents being musicians in a dance band. With music always played in their home, it was natural for Iain to follow in their footsteps. On his return to Edinburgh, he worked during the day on the administrative staff of a large law firm. In the evenings, he managed a large cabaret show in one of the five-star hotels where they served Scottish cuisine. The show was comprised of a five-piece band, four dancers, a bagpipe player, a female singer, and Iain as host and soloist. Iain eventually left the law firm and teamed up with a solo musician; very soon they were performing in North America. From there, their notoriety spread, taking them to the Middle East, where they entertained expat Scots in the oil business, then undertook a five-week tour of New Zealand comprised of 26 shows. A five-week tour from Winnipeg, Alberta, to Nova Scotia, Canada, finished out the year. In 1989, they were offered their first recording contract, followed by an invitation to perform at a Silver Jubilee celebration attended by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh. In 1992, they produced a second CD done live in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.
Celtic Home Watch serves Ellenton, Lakewood Ranch, South Bradenton, and Parrish. You can reach Iain at (941) 260-2744 or iain@4him.cc. Learn more from his website, at https://celtichomewatch.com.
