Orlando Home Watch is a part of Resort Realty Group Ltd Inc. David Bowers is the president and owner. He lives with his wife, Wendy, and their golden doodle in the Lakes at Harmony, a 55+ active adult community. David is a licensed real estate broker in Florida, Massachusetts and Rhode Island and a licensed Community Association Manager (CAM). Resort Realty Group Ltd. has been a licensed Florida real estate brokerage corporation since 1996, focusing on 55+ active adult communities.
David and Wendy realized the importance of Home Watch because 50% of the people they sold homes to live in a 55+ community but didn’t live there year-round. They depended on neighbors to watch their property. It soon became apparent that the neighbors didn’t really want the responsibility but felt obligated to watch it casually from a distance. They would occasionally go into the house to make sure no pipes had leaked or to let the homeowner know a sprinkler head needed replacing…but that was it. If anything was more serious, the homeowner wouldn’t know for months or until they returned to the property. Unfortunately, even a tiny leak can be disastrous if not fixed in time.
Just recently, a neighbor’s house was hit by lightning, which created many issues. Everything was fried—the circuit breaker, water softener, electric garage door, water tank, etc. The house was unoccupied, and it would have gone unnoticed for months. Fortunately, David had the listing on the house, so he found the problems while checking on it.
