Goat Island Guardians of Orange Beach, Alabama, has earned accreditation from the NHWA for the second year. Founding members Catherine Smith, Jennifer McClurg, and Stephanie Smith are proud to bring professional Home Watch services to their Gulf Coast neighbors.
With a B.S. in Business Administration from The University of North Carolina and a master’s degree in Counselor Education from The University of Alabama, Catherine has spent over 25 years in private practice and nonprofit work. As a co-founder and Director of Operations of a Birmingham nonprofit in 2006, she has close to 20 years of experience managing that organization's property, facilities, and operations. Catherine moved to Baldwin County in 2020 and oversaw the construction of her new home. She fell in love with residential construction and a home's inner workings and systems. As a seventh-generation property owner in Baldwin County, she is thrilled to live full-time in such a beautiful coastal community. Holding property management and maintenance close to her heart, Catherine felt pulled to help owners know what is happening while they are away from their homes.
Jennifer has an MBA, double-focused in Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Finance. She spent 25 years in professional roles spanning technology and healthcare, from startups to acquisitions to building and leading national sales and service teams for multi-billion-dollar organizations. Four years ago, Jen left the corporate world to launch and lead her own consulting and advisory firm, guiding early-stage health tech companies in strategy-building, aligning financial models for value-based care, and growing revenue. Along the way, Jen’s passion for real estate led to purchasing and managing numerous investment properties.
Stephanie is a licensed real estate agent and master-level social worker. She loves residential investing and has purchased, built, renovated, and sold several homes. Stephanie spent a 25-year career working with families in various needs and settings. She brings years of experience in service and resource coordination, dedication, and an eye for detail to Goat Island Guardians. Stephanie loves helping her island neighbors care for their homes through the partnership of Home Watch.
Goat Island Guardians serves Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, and Ono Island. You can reach them at (251) 210-8856 or info@goatislandguardians.com. Learn more at their website, https://goatislandguardians.com.
Congratulations, Catherine, Jennifer, and Stephanie!
As always, I wish you
Much success,
Jack Luber Executive Director
