On Deck Home Check of Englewood, Florida, has earned accreditation from the NHWA for the sixth year.
Owners Erik and Melissa Holm take pride in caring for their clients’ homes. Their mission is trust; they understand that each client has invested in their community, and their goal is to help see that their homes are not lost to time or unexpected events.
Erik was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. His parents were born in the United States, and he carries dual citizenship. Early in his career, Erik worked for a property management company, inspecting and maintaining apartment buildings. His love of aviation led him down a different path, and he got his degree in Aviation Management. Erik worked in the airline industry for 16 years in various positions. He played integral roles in the airline and airline service provider companies and helped expand and grow each company. Erik eventually became Vice President of Training, Safety, and Security. He was involved in auditing operations and investigating incidents and accidents in the aviation field. Erik left that work and moved to Englewood to help care for his aging parents. He has enjoyed improving his home wherever he lives and helping his parents with projects around their homes. Erik became interested in Home Watch when he discovered the challenges his family and friends had managing their homes from afar.
Born in Mesa, Arizona, Melissa moved to Pennsylvania and then to Ohio, working in customs clearing, cleaning, airline management, and accounting. Melissa began in the home services business by starting a cleaning company. Switching to Home Watch has been an exciting and fun transition. As she saw the need for such services and felt joy from protecting clients’ homes, Melissa realized she had a passion for the Home Watch business.
Erik and Melissa have two children, Ethan and Evelyn. They want to spend more time with their kids, so they started their Home Watch service. Building a family-run business allows them to combine their seriousness in a well-built business while still having that important family time. Their clients become a part of the On Deck family, and just as you should be choosy about who protects your home, they care about who becomes a part of their family.
