Tracy Hickman
The Helpful Home Watcher of Tucson, Arizona, has earned accreditation from the NHWA.
Owner Tracy Hickman was born and raised in Tucson. For the last 23 years, he was in the automotive business as a parts manager for three luxury car lines. It was fast-paced, high-stress work, and Tracy managed up to ten employees at a time. He worked with people from all walks of life, from local mechanical and collision shops all the way to high-net-worth individuals. This work required keeping information confidential, being very organized, and solving problems daily. Tracy achieved numerous certifications over the years in the car dealership, including Master Certified with both Lexus and Land Rover Jaguar.
Before the automotive business, Tracy worked in almost all departments at The Home Depot for about eight years, directly out of high school. This helped him learn and understand a bit about construction and home projects which, in turn, helped him countless times with his own home and those of friends and family.
A few years ago, Tracy found himself checking on friends’ and neighbors’ houses when they would leave on vacation or for work. When an issue arose, he would make a call or text photos. Sometimes it was something Tracy could fix. If not, he would coordinate a repair person or someone else to handle the situation. When the season came back around, he was asked if he would mind watching their homes again, and they would pay him! Tracy found this to be something he really enjoyed doing. He started doing research and found that Home Watch could be a business; he could do something he enjoyed and work for himself. Perfect!
Tracy has been married for 31 years, since he was just a teenager. He and his wife have raised three children, now 31, 29, and 22 years old. In his limited spare time, Tracy loves going to the water. His family enjoys trips to Rocky Point in Mexico or San Diego. He enjoys going on trips with friends, off-roading with quads or side-by-side. Tracy enjoys meeting and helping people.
