Congrats to Blue Shield Home Watch of Port Charlotte, FL, on their second-year accreditation!​

​Blue Shield Home Watch of Port Charlotte, Florida, has earned second-year accreditation from the NHWA.

Co-owner Scott Kirsch brings a wealth of experience and dedication to Blue Shield Home Watch. Raised in West Central Florida, Scott spent his formative years working at his parents' restoration company. This early exposure gave him firsthand insight into the damaging effects of unoccupied homes, including pipe breaks, floods, and storm and rodent damage. Scott’s academic journey took him to Mount Aloysius College in Pennsylvania, where he studied Occupational Therapy and worked in the field for several years.

In 2003, Scott shifted his focus to law enforcement, completing the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Law Enforcement Academy training. He is now in the Charlotte County area, where he serves as a Senior Investigator with the Fish and Wildlife Commission. In this role, he specializes in protecting Florida’s natural resources. His experience with his parents’ restoration company and his current role have equipped him with a keen eye for identifying potential property issues, making him a perfect fit for the Home Watch industry. Recognizing the need for a formal Home Watch service, Scott transitioned from informally helping snowbird friends and family to establishing Blue Shield Home Watch.

Co-owner Jason Cooke complements Scott’s expertise with his own extensive background. Born and raised in Key West, Florida, Jason pursued higher education at the University of West Florida, earning a bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies with a focus on Nautical Archaeology and a minor in Environmental Studies. Jason began his law enforcement career with the Florida State Police in 2007, stationed in Charlotte County. Over the years, he has climbed the ranks, becoming Investigator I in 2012 and Investigator II in 2020, specializing as a regional subject matter expert. Jason’s leadership roles include being a team leader on the Special Response Team since 2014 and assistant team leader of the dive team since 2018.
