Congratulations to South Coast Home Watch of New Buffalo, MI, on its accreditation from the NHWA!​

Chris Thun

​South Coast Home Watch of New Buffalo, Michigan, has earned accreditation from the NHWA.

Owner Christopher Thun has worked in the Home Watch industry for several years and loves his work. Being there for others and caring for their homes as if they were his own is extremely important to Chris. Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Chris played several sports throughout high school and even played baseball at the college level for a couple of years. He appreciates the competitive nature of sports and the common goal of a team to succeed.

It was in Chicago that Chris met his future wife, Vanessa. She grew up in New Buffalo, and after working in Chicago for several years, she moved back to New Buffalo in 1999 to start a cleaning company, which still exists today. Chris eventually followed her to Michigan, and they got married in 2005. Their son, Lucas, was born in 2009.

When Chris is not working, he coaches the New Buffalo High School varsity baseball team and sits on the New Buffalo Youth Sports Board. He also just retired as a New Buffalo City Fire Department volunteer. Over the years, Chris has helped Vanessa turn that small family business into a well-organized cleaning company. From 2015 to 2021, Chris sold HVAC parts and equipment.

A few years ago, Chris took over looking after a handful of homes in the neighborhood for a family friend who was moving to Florida. Chris has since added several more homes, turning this “hobby” into South Coast Home Watch. Chris is continuously looking to expand their area and grow their Home Watch company. He says he’s very grateful to be where he is today and considers it his priority to be there for his clients.

South Coast Home Watch serves the following in Indiana: Michigan City, Long Beach, and Michiana Shores.
